The Dien Bien Phu Martyrs' Cemetery, opened in 1958 in the city centre, honours over 6,000 soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Vietnam’s independence. It is a solemn place of remembrance where visitors pay tribute to the nation’s heroes and their enduring patriotic spirit.

A1 Hill (also known as C1 Hill) is one of the most important battle sites of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, where the Viet Minh secured a decisive victory in May 1954. Today, it stands as a memorial honouring the soldiers who sacrificed for Vietnam’s independence. The tour then continues to De Castries’ Bunker, the former command centre of French General Henri de Castries, offering insight into the final days of the historic campaign.
