What you can expect

    On the agenda:

    • Understand the life of a river by going upstream, get to know the fauna/flora of the riverbanks better, and especially the protected species (Natura 2000 area)
    • Gorges and limestone tufa: a bit of history to understand how they formed
    • Discover the local heritage and historical uses of the river
    • Take a detour to a small tributary, offering magnificent pools of water and waterfalls.
    • Complimentary aperitif at sunset at the top of the gorges

Supervision - Group hike (max 13 people), supervised by a mountain guide based in Sisteron. They'll give you the technical info and show you around the local area. The itinerary may be modified depending on the weather conditions or the physical condition of the participants. If cancelled due to weather, the outing will be fully refunded.

Difficulty level - Level 2/5 or 3/5 depending on the variants chosen. 1.5 to 3 hours of actual walking and 150m to 350m of positive elevation gain during the outing. Some ravine passages, though secure, will require your vigilance. Kids are welcome if they can walk on their own; specific activities can be planned for them, please let us know when you sign up.

Essential gear - 1 comfy backpack (20-30L) for your stuff // hiking shoes or, if not, a pair of trainers // 1 outfit suitable for walking (breathable and light clothing) // 1 water bottle (1L minimum/person for the outing) // 1 headlamp (or a phone charged with a torch) // 1 cap or hat, sunglasses, and sun cream // 1 technical waterproof windbreaker (gore-tex type) or a k-way // your medical treatment (if you have one).
Optional gear - your phone or camera, hiking poles (if you're used to walking with them!)
