What you can expect

  • Today we'll enjoy a unique experience that combines the majestic feat of the Panama Canal with a visit to an authentic Panamanian indigenous community.

    Our first stop will be the Miraflores Visitors Centre, where we'll learn about the history and operation of this engineering marvel. During the journey, our tour guide will share interesting facts about the importance and development of the Panama Canal.

    Later, we'll head to the Chagres National Park, where we'll board the traditional Emberá “piraguas” or canoes. For approximately 30 minutes, we will sail the waters of the Gatún River until we spot the Emberá Querá village, whose name means “Emberá Perfume,” where we will be welcomed by our friendly hosts.

    We'll tour the community to learn about their homes and customs, and we'll have the opportunity to chat with the tribe's shaman.

    At the end of the visit, we'll board the canoe again to return to the mainland and continue our journey to the next destination.
