This elegant medieval stone bridge, with its single sweeping arch, connects the two sides of the Nervia River and creates one of the most photographed views in Liguria. Walking across it, marvel at the colourful houses climbing the hillside and the breathtaking scenery that inspired Claude Monet, who painted the bridge and titled it “Le Château de Dolceacqua”.
As you continue through narrow cobbled alleys, known locally as carruggi, pass noble houses with stone portals, hidden courtyards, and charming squares that reveal the authentic soul of the village. The route then reaches the exterior of the imposing Doria Castle, perched on the hill above the village.
