Overview

What truly differentiates my Douro Valley tour is the balance between authenticity, comfort, and personal connection.
This is not a rushed, generic experience. I focus on small groups and a relaxed pace, allowing guests to genuinely connect with the region, the people, and the traditions. From boutique family-owned estates like Quinta de Santa Eufémia to intimate tastings at Quinta da Fonte do Milho, every stop is carefully selected for quality and authenticity — not mass tourism.
You’ll taste premium Ports such as a 20 Year Old Tawny and 10 Year Old White, enjoy a traditional lunch at Adega Popular, cruise along the Douro River in Pinhão, and admire breathtaking views from iconic viewpoints — all without feeling rushed. I share stories, local insights, and cultural context that you won’t find in guidebooks. It’s a premium yet genuine experience, designed to feel like discovering the Douro with a knowledgeable local friend.

Activity itinerary

Amarante
  • 1h
In Amarante, we slow down and enjoy the authentic charm of northern Portugal. We walk through the historic centre, cross the beautiful Ponte de São Gonçalo and visit the impressive Igreja e Convento de São Gonçalo, one of the town’s most iconic landmarks.
Quinta de Santa Eufemia
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket included
At Quinta de Santa Eufémia, guests enjoy an authentic and intimate wine tasting experience in the heart of the Douro Valley. During the tasting, I serve two exceptional Ports: a rich and elegant 20 Year Old Tawny Port, smooth and complex with notes of dried fruits, caramel, and subtle oak; and a beautifully balanced 10 Year Old White Port, fresh yet structured, with aromas of honey, nuts, and a long refined finish. While tasting, I explain the ageing process, the differences between styles, and the storey of this family-owned estate that has been producing wine for generations — all enjoyed with breathtaking views over the Douro River and its terraced vineyards.
Peso Da Regua
  • 1h 30m
Lunch is served at the traditional Adega Popular, a welcoming local restaurant in the heart of Peso da Régua. Here we enjoy authentic regional cuisine, with homemade dishes prepared according to traditional Douro recipes. The menu often features local specialities such as grilled meats, codfish, or seasonal regional dishes, always accompanied by quality local wine from the Douro region. The atmosphere is relaxed and genuine, popular among locals, which makes the experience even more authentic. It’s the perfect moment to unwind, savour the flavours of the Douro, and experience true Portuguese hospitality before continuing our journey.
Miradouro de Sao Leonardo de Galafura
  • 10m
We make a short 10-minute stop at the stunning Miradouro de São Leonardo da Galafura, often called the “Heart of the Douro.” From this breathtaking viewpoint, you’ll admire the dramatic curves of the Douro River surrounded by terraced vineyards that stretch endlessly across the hills. It’s the perfect moment to take unforgettable photos, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and truly appreciate the scale and beauty of this UNESCO-listed landscape. Even in just a few minutes, this stop captures the essence of the Douro — peaceful
Pinhao
  • 1h
In the charming village of Pinhão, we enjoy a relaxing one-hour boat cruise along the beautiful Douro River. As we gently sail through the calm waters, you’ll admire the breathtaking terraced vineyards climbing the hillsides — part of the UNESCO-listed Douro Valley landscape. From the river perspective, the region reveals a completely different and unforgettable beauty, with historic wine estates (quintas) and scenic curves of the valley surrounding us. This peaceful cruise is the perfect moment to slow down, take photos, and truly absorb the magic and tranquility of the Douro
Quinta da Fonte do Milho
  • 1h 30m
  • Admission ticket included
At Quinta da Fonte do Milho, guests enjoy an authentic and intimate tasting experience in a beautiful family-owned estate overlooking the Douro Valley. During the visit, we taste a selection of carefully produced wines, learning about the winemaking process, the unique terroir, and the traditions that define this region. The experience continues with a delicious tasting of homemade jams and high-quality extra virgin olive oil, all produced locally. The jams highlight the natural flavours of regional fruits, while the olive oil stands out for its fresh aroma, balanced texture, and elegant finish. This tasting is more than just sampling products — it’s a sensory journey through the flavours of the Douro, combining wine, tradition, and local craftsmanship in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
