Activity itinerary

Poienari Castle
  • 2h
  • Admission ticket not included
If we were to put together a tour of the castles in Romania for Dracula fans and adventure lovers, Poenari Castle would have to be on the list, being an important Romanian tourist attraction. With this private trip you will have the perfect chance to discover the wildlife in Transylvania. You will travel by private car and have your own guide. As you are climbing up the 1480 stairs that lead up to the castle, you can rightfully say you are following in the steps of Dracula. To get here it will take us about 2 hours driving!
Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
  • 2h
  • Admission ticket not included
Step inside if you dare! To get to see Bran we'll drive for 3 hour crossing Carpatian Mountains to Transylvania! Once you see it in person, you will understand why this castle is a symbol of Romanian tourism and why it is the most visited tourist attraction in Romania. Commonly known outside Transylvania as Dracula's Castle, it is often referred to as the home of the title character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. There is no evidence that Stoker knew anything about this castle, which has only tangential associations with Vlad the Impaler, voivode of Wallachia, the putative inspiration for Dracula.Stoker's description of Dracula's crumbling fictional castle also bears no resemblance to Bran Castle. The castle is now a museum dedicated to displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie.
Snagov Monastery
  • 2h
  • Admission ticket not included
Vlad Tepes got his vampire reputation due to the cruel method through which he punished traitors, thieves, and enemies – impalement. Not much is known about the death of Dracula/ Vlad Tepes, but some of the most popular hypotheses are that he was killed in a battle against the Turks, or that he was murdered by Wallachian boyars, as part of a revenge plot. That is why there are many stories and myths about the place where Dracula was buried, supposedly by the monks who loved him for his bravery and love for his country, and who risked their lives to retrieve his body. Most historians who had access to the monastery’s written records believe “Dracula’s” resting place is at Snagov Monastery – an orthodox house of worship built on the island of the same name, surrounded by a beautiful scenery near Bucharest.
Princely Court
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Targoviste Fortress is one of the most important medieval monuments in Romania. With a history that goes back to the 15th century, this former princely court was used as a residence by some of the most famous princes of Southern Romania, including Constantin Brancoveanu and the legendary Vlad the Impaler who built the emblematic Chindia Tower. Targoviste was the capital of Southern Romania in the medieval centuries before Bucharest achieved this status. The princely court was mentioned starting with 1417-1418 in a document of Michael the 1st, the son of Prince Mircea the Old who built here a church in 1415. During this initial stage, the fortress was rather small, surrounded by a wooden defence wall. It’s Vlad Dracul who extended and modernised the court to the standards of a princely residence, fortified against enemy attacks
