What you can expect

  • Take a day to visit the historic city of Edinburgh, travelling in style with reserved seating on the train. This self-guided tour allows you to see any and all of Edinburgh's amazing highlights at your own pace, giving you hop-on hop-off bus access to the most iconic parts of the city.

Start your day at London King's Cross Rail Station. Soon after finding your reserved seat on the train, you're whisked off through the peaceful countryside and across the border to Edinburgh, Scotland. Upon arriving in the Scottish capital, board an open-top sightseeing bus and begin exploring the historic city.

Visit the Edinburgh Castle, an incredible fortress that dominates the city's skyline from its position atop Castle Rock. With a history dating back to the 12th century, the castle has played a vital role in Edinburgh and Scotland's development and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your tour, also choose to stop at landmarks in the Old Town quarter, including the towering Scott Monument and the majestic Palace of Holyroodhouse. In the evening, catch the train back to London and bring your day-long excursion to a close.
