Enjoy the most complete and comfortable way to explore El Caminito del Rey, one of the most spectacular trekking routes in southern Spain. Walk along impressive walkways suspended more than 100 metres above the Gaitanes Gorge and dare to cross the new longest suspension bridge in Spain, accompanied by an official local guide who will bring the history, nature, and engineering of this unique place to life.
Meet your tour guide at the front desk of La Garganta Hotel and Restaurant, located next to the southern admission point of the Caminito del Rey, just 100 metres from the El Chorro–Caminito del Rey train station. After a brief introduction, you'll take the included shuttle bus from the southern access to the northern entrance (Ardales), where the route begins, enjoying panoramic views of the Conde de Guadalhorce Reservoir along the way.
Before reaching the access checkpoint, you'll pass through a tunnel carved into the rock and enjoy a pleasant journey of approximately 15 minutes surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, while discovering the history of King Alfonso XIII and the origins of this historic masterpiece of engineering. At the official entrance, you'll be given a safety helmet and clear instructions so that you can start the tour with complete peace of mind.
The adventure continues along more than 3 kilometres of suspended walkways, some of them barely a metre wide, that cling to the vertical walls of the gorge. Discover iconic places such as the Escalones del Chocolate (or Escalones de la Mantequilla), the Tajo de las Palomas Canyon, the coexistence of the old and the new Caminito, the Puente del Rey, the Mirador de Cristal, the Valle del Hoyo, and the spectacular Gran Gaitán straits.
During the tour, you'll cross the iconic suspension bridges of the Caminito del Rey, including the new longest suspension bridge in Spain. Both offer spectacular views of the El Chorro Reservoir and the surrounding formations. After crossing, a picturesque descending path takes you back to the South access, where the route ends at La Garganta Hotel and Restaurant, a perfect place to relax with a drink or to return by train or car.
You have the option to enhance your full-day experience in El Chorro by selecting the climbing or electric bike option.
