Begin your experience with a 1-hour guided tour of our family-run 2.5-acre spice garden, the largest spice garden in Ella, home to more than 100 plants. Explore Sri Lanka’s rich spices and medicinal plants, explained plant by plant, including garcinia, vanilla, cocoa, curry leaves, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and many more. Learn how these spices are grown and used in traditional cooking and medicine.

Next, enjoy a hands-on Sri Lankan cooking class in Ella, held in a traditional local fireplace with friendly, easy-to-follow instruction. You’ll learn to prepare fresh coconut milk by hand and cook authentic Sri Lankan dishes from scratch, gaining insight into the flavours and techniques that make Sri Lankan cuisine unique.

White rice, pumpkin or dhal curry, potato milk curry, mushroom curry, green bean curry, chicken curry, coconut sambol, crispy banana chips, and papadam.
