The tour begins and ends in the beautiful village of Pinhão. Our pier is close to the Pinhão bridge, also designed by Gustave Eiffel. We will pass underneath and head east where we will admire landscapes of vibrant colours with the cool breeze at the end of the day. We saw terraced vineyards down to the river, centuries-old buildings of wine farms – Bomfim, Carvalhas, Roeda, Ventozelo, Pessegueiro, Roncão and Romaneira, in a unique landscape considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Douro Valley, also known as the enchanted valley, is a picturesque region that winds through northern Portugal, hugging the mighty Douro River. Its landscapes are truly magical and offer unparalleled beauty. We provide an audio guide in Portuguese, French, English, Spanish and German, so you can listen comfortably and securely on your own cell phone.
