What you can expect

  • Experience the breathtaking natural wonder of La Bufadora, one of the world’s largest marine geysers, located just 17 miles (35 kilometres) south of Ensenada on the picturesque Punta Banda peninsula. According to local legend, this thunderous blowhole was once a grey whale turned to stone, and today it remains an awe-inspiring sight, capable of shooting water up to 100 feet (30 metres) into the air.
This natural marine geyser is created when ocean waves force air and water into a partially submerged sea cavern, resulting in tremendous pressure that launches a spectacular jet of water skyward. Visitors can enjoy the impressive display from surrounding viewpoints, where they’re likely to get drenched by the powerful spray.

Your journey to La Bufadora begins with a scenic drive from Ensenada, offering stunning views of Bahia de Todos Santos and the nearby mountain range. Travel south on Mexico 1 for about 25 minutes to Maneadero, where clearly marked signs guide you to La Bufadora. The well-paved road leads through beautiful landscapes, and upon arrival, several parking options are available with attendants on duty.

This private tour is operated by Ensenada Shore Excursions and ensures a personalised experience for your group. Along the way, enjoy the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle and the expertise of a knowledgeable guide. The tour is conducted in both English and Spanish, catering to a wide range of visitors.
