The next day, enjoy breakfast before heading back to Kampala. Check in and relax at your lodge. After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Although it isn't a classic Big Five destination, Lake Mburo National Park hosts a varied selection of African wildlife, including several iconic species not found elsewhere in western Uganda.
The park’s acacia-swathed slopes and valleys are home to giraffe, zebra, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, bushbuck and various other grazers and browsers. Hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds thrive in an extensive network of lakes and other wetlands.
On arrival in Lake Mburo National Park, you will have an evening game drive.
This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals.
