• Starting point: The Vieux Port (Old Port) of Marseille. Meet at the wharf to get acquainted. We immediately board bus 60 (ticket included) to effortlessly reach the highest point in the city.
• Stop 1: The Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica (La Bonne Mère) Outdoor exploration of this iconic monument in the Neo-Byzantine style. Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Marseille harbour. Self-guided tour inside the basilica (free admission) before starting our descent towards the Corniche JF Kennedy.
• Stop 2: Parc Valmer A cool, shady break among the exotic trees of this 19th-century park. Admire the magnificent Villa Valmer and its trompe-l'oeil “rockery” decorations.
• Stop 3: L'Anse de la Fausse Monnaie Pass under the Corniche Kennedy viaduct to discover this small, embedded pocket harbour and its legendary history of counterfeiters.
• Stage 4: The village of Malmousque Total immersion in the labyrinth of streets on the Malmousque peninsula. A true postcard setting with the feel of a Corsican or Greek village, facing Îlot Degaby and the Endoume Archipelago.
• Stop 5: The Vallon des Auffes Marseille's most famous and traditional fishing harbour. Admire the colourful wooden pointus, pass under the large stone bridge, and discover the birthplace of the real Marseillaise bouillabaisse.
• Stop 6: Catalans Beach Pass along the famous sandy beach in the town centre, a hotspot for local beach volleyball.
• Stage 7: The Palais du Pharo The guided tour ends on the esplanade of Napoleon III's imperial residence. A unique vantage point over the harbour entry, Fort Saint-Jean, the Cathédrale de la Major and the Mucem.
• Drop-off point: The Old Port A final 10-minute walk to return together to the original departure point in complete peace of mind.
