In this tour, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, which is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. With approximately a hundred individual leopards, YALA is recognised as the National Park with the highest leopard density in the world.
What happens on a typical day on safari?
A. Pick-up time at 2.30 a.m. - in and around the Kosgoda/ Ahungalla/ Balapitiya/ Ambalangoda/ Akurala Beach area. All pick up times - (Morning Safari - 2.30 a.m./ 3.00 a.m. / Afternoon Safari - 11.00 a.m.)
Earliest times in the Morning Safari (2.30 a.m.) is the most recommended. Adjust the itinerary times according to the pickup time you select.
The Taxi is an Air-conditioned car or minivan & on SHARING BASIS.
B. Get down from the Taxi at Tissamaharama.
Get into the SHARED SAFARI VEHICLE - at around 5.30 a.m.
You can leave your luggage in the Taxi while you are going on the Safari.
Here, there's 30 minutes break in Afternoon Safari for you to have lunch.

C. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 1st Game Drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.)
E. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 2nd Game Drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.)
F. Get down from the safari vehicle and get into the transfer vehicle (Air-conditioned Car or minivan) - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m.
G. Drop-off time at around 2.00 p.m. - in the same place where you have picked up.
