What you can expect

Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your hotel in the historic centre of Arequipa. Head southeast, stopping first at the Mirador de los Volcanes to admire the city’s guardian volcanoes and the pre-Inca terraces of Chiguata, a traditional village.

Continue to Chiguata to visit its main church, dedicated to the Holy Spirit, and explore the main square. Next, stop at the entrance to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve to see the Queñua forest and the Yareta plant, once used as fuel.

Make a brief stop at the Ojo de Agua Zimbral to see the natural water springs. Then, arrive at the stunning Laguna de Salinas and ascend to the Qaqa Wasi viewpoint for breathtaking views. Take photos of the water mirrors and spot local wildlife, including birds, llamas, and vicuñas.

Continue to the beautiful Salar de Chilitia to take fun photos and admire this natural phenomenon. Finally, visit the hot springs at the foot of the Ubinas Volcano in the province of Sanchez Cerro, Moquegua. Return to the historic centre of Arequipa, arriving at around 2:00 PM.
