Day 1: On arrival to Bale Mountain, meet your guide and drive to the park headquarters. Then, hike through the park headquarters, and spot endemic and endangered mammals such as the mountain nyala, Ethiopian bush back bush buck, warthogs, reedbuck, grey duiker, and baboons. Also, see birds such as the Abyssinia cat bird, white bucked black tit, black-headed siskin, and wattled ibis in the juniper woodlands of Bale Mountain at Qq. Continue driving 45 kilometres to the Wabe Shaballe Hotel at an altitude of 2800 metres above sea level.
Day 2: Trek from Dinsho to the Sodota campsite. After breakfast, begin your hike to Sodota, a 18-kilometer trek from Dinsho through the spectacular scenery of the Web Valley towards the Fincha Habera waterfall, where the Web and Wolla rivers meet. In this area, have your first chance to spot the endemic Ethiopian wolf, as well as raptors, rock hyrax, and endemic birds such as the blue-winged goose. On arrival at the campsite, have a nice coffee/tea break. Overnight at the Sodota campsite at an altitude of 3500 metres above sea level.
Day 3: Trek from Sodota to Keryenas. Pass through a beautiful landscape with stunning views. Pass through lava where the Lammergeyer and Verraux Eagles keep nests. There will also be a chance to see the Ethiopian wolf and numerous birdlife. Trek for around 7-8 hours. Overnight at the Kerrense campsite at an altitude of 3900 metres above sea level.
Day 4: Trek from Kerrenss to Rafu. Walk through a section of wilderness and see how the mountains massif was formed. Day 5: Trek from Rafu to the Sennett Plateau. Leave the beautiful Rafu and head to the Senetti Plateau. Meet with a vehicle and drive to the largest highest peaks, Tulu Demtuu, the highest mountain in the country. Observe the magical view from the top of the 4377-meter-high peak, the second highest peak in the country. Enjoy the Sennett Plateau, known as the home of the Ethiopian wolf. See more than 350 Ethiopian wolves in a relatively big area, giant morel rat, a few groups of mountain nyala, and the most birdlife in the park.
