Day 1: Arrival in Chennai

Day 2: Chennai – Pondicherry
After breakfast, drive to Pondicherry (approx. 3.5 hours). This coastal town is known for its French colonial charm and relaxed lifestyle. Visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a quiet spiritual centre where visitors come for meditation and inner peace. Walk along Promenade Beach, a scenic seaside road offering beautiful ocean views. Later visit Auroville, an international community built on the idea of unity and sustainable living. In the evening, visit Manakula Vinayagar Temple, a historic temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, known for its vibrant paintings and traditional rituals. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
Day 3: Pondicherry Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore the French Quarter with its colonial buildings, colourful streets, and charming cafés. Visit local churches, museums, and art galleries that reflect the town’s mixed Indian and French heritage. Relax at the beach or enjoy shopping for handicrafts, handmade candles, and souvenirs. Experience the calm and cultural beauty of the town. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
Day 4: Pondicherry – Kumbakonam
Drive to Kumbakonam (approx. 2.5 hours), a town famous for its temples. Visit Mahamaham Tank, a sacred water tank where a major religious festival takes place every 12 years. Then visit Kumbeswarar Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, admired for its tall tower and detailed stone carvings. Explore the local streets known for traditional brass and bronze crafts. Overnight stay in Kumbakonam.
Day 5: Excursion to Thanjavur
Drive to Thanjavur and visit the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built over 1,000 years ago by the Chola dynasty. The temple is famous for its massive stone structure and impressive tower. Continue to Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, another grand Chola temple known for its beautiful sculptures and peaceful surroundings. Return to Kumbakonam. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Kumbakonam – Tiruvannamalai
Drive to Tiruvannamalai (approx. 3.5 hours), an important spiritual town. Visit Arunachaleswarar Temple, one of the largest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its huge towers and sacred atmosphere. In the evening, visit Arunachala Hill, considered very sacred, and enjoy sunset views. Overnight stay in Tiruvannamalai.
Day 7: Departure
Visit Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram, a peaceful ashram ideal for meditation and reflection. Later transfer for your onward journey or return to Chennai for departure.
