Day 1
We will pick you up at your accommodation in Iquitos and transfer you to the port of Bellavista. From there, we will board a boat towards the Amazon rainforest and our jungle lodge.
During the journey, we will navigate along the Amazon and Nanay rivers while enjoying the beautiful scenery and observing the natural environment of the region.
After arriving at the lodge, we will have lunch and then visit a local community. We will learn about the lifestyle of the people who live in this area, their traditions and the medicinal plants traditionally used in the region.
After returning to the lodge and enjoying dinner, you will have the option to join a guided night walk through the rainforest and experience the jungle after sunset.
Day 2
We will begin the day with a jungle excursion to explore the surrounding rainforest and learn about the biodiversity of the Amazon.
During the excursion, we will observe the natural environment and, depending on local conditions, may have the opportunity to see wildlife in its natural habitat.
We will then return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit a butterfly farm, where we will learn about the life cycle and metamorphosis of butterflies and their importance to the Amazon ecosystem.
Day 3
We will wake up early for a short jungle walk and enjoy the sunrise surrounded by the sounds and landscapes of the rainforest.
Afterwards, we will return to the lodge for breakfast and continue with the day's activities.
We will visit the Yagua community, where we will learn about their traditional culture, dances, handicrafts and way of life. You will also have the opportunity to see and purchase locally made handicrafts.
In the afternoon, we will visit another local community to learn about traditional knowledge and the use of medicinal plants.
Day 4
On the final day, we will navigate along the Amazon River and enjoy a recreational fishing activity.
We will also visit an area where visitors can experience traditional therapeutic mud surrounded by the Amazonian landscape.
After lunch, we will begin our return journey to Iquitos, arriving at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Lodging
This tour includes three nights of accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
