Itinerary
At 9:00 a.m., we will meet at the central avenue Antonio Raimondi to start this full tour of Iquitos. During the tour, we will discover the main attractions of this city located on the banks of the Amazon River and delve into its history.

We will stroll through the historic centre of Iquitos contemplating huge mansions decorated with tiles that were once brought from Europe as part of the rubber fever that brought so much wealth to this city in the late nineteenth century.

Strolling down the street we will come across the facade of the Casa de Fierro, which was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the architect of the famous Parisian tower. And then we will arrive at the Museum of Amazonian Indigenous Cultures, where we will see pieces of handicrafts, textiles and other objects belonging to different ethnic groups in the area.

The next stop of the Iquitos tour will be at the Belen market, where we will be able to mingle with the local life by watching the continuous coming and going of the inhabitants of this city. Fruit, fish, meat products… Here you will find everything!

We will go to a restaurant and leave you about an hour free for lunch. With your appetite satiated, we will board a minibus and head to the outskirts of the city to visit a manatee rescue centre. Here, we will learn about the work done by volunteers trying to save these aquatic mammals from extinction.

The last stop of the tour will be at the Quistococha Zoo. This park is home to a multitude of Amazonian species such as jaguars, monkeys, tapirs, caimans, snakes and macaws, so you will be able to see them up close!

We will finish the tour at 5:00 p.m. at the starting point.
