What you can expect
Begin your adventure with a visit to the world-famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. Enjoy a self-guided tour of this remarkable hotel built entirely from ice and snow. Explore its unique ice rooms, admire intricate ice sculptures created by artists from around the world, and visit the iconic ice bar while learning about the hotel's fascinating history.
Next, head to Jukkasjärvi Church, one of Sweden’s oldest wooden churches. Built in the early 17th century, this charming red church provides insight into the region’s history and offers a peaceful setting amidst the Arctic landscape.
Continue to Nutti Sámi Siida, where you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the Sámi people, the Indigenous inhabitants of Sápmi. Explore exhibits showcasing traditional Sámi life, culture, and reindeer herding traditions before enjoying the opportunity to meet and feed reindeer.
Following your visits, stop at a local restaurant for lunch (not included), where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal. Alternatively, enjoy some free time exploring the charming village of Jukkasjärvi, browse local handicrafts, or simply soak in the peaceful Arctic atmosphere at your own pace.
Before returning to your accommodation, enjoy a short guided tour of Kiruna and learn about the city's remarkable transformation. Drive through the new city centre, developed as part of one of the world’s largest urban relocation projects, and pass by the relocated Kiruna Church, with a visit included once it is open to the public. You’ll also visit parts of the old town where your guide will explain how the iron ore mine has shaped Kiruna’s history and led to the relocation of homes, buildings, and entire areas. We will also stop at a local shop offering regional specialities, including locally sourced meats, traditional furs, and a variety of unique handcrafted souvenirs and trinkets.
