What you can expect

Begin your journey in Lisbon and head to Tomar, a city known for its rich history and diverse monuments. Visit the Castle and Convent of the Order of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and marvel at its blend of 12th to 16th-century architecture and art.

Next, see the Pegões Aqueduct, a 6-kilometer-long structure built between 1503 and 1614 to supply water to the convent. Admire its impressive height of up to 30 metres.

Continue to the Church of Santa Maria do Olival, a 13th-century Gothic church that served as a burial ground for the Knights Templar. Then, visit the Synagogue of Tomar, the best-preserved medieval synagogue in Portugal, now housing the Jewish Museum Abraão Zacuto.

Explore the Church of Saint John the Baptist, located in the main square, and see its panels painted by renowned Renaissance artist Gregório Lopes. Visit the Chapel of Our Lady of the Conception, built in pure Renaissance style, and the Church and Convent of Saint Iria, located near the Nabão River.
