We will visit the majestic León Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will have the opportunity to climb to its famous white roof to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the impressive Los Maribios volcanic chain. In the afternoon, we'll head to the impressive Cerro Negro, the youngest volcano in Central America and one of the few places in the world where sandboarding on volcanic sand is possible.
Upon arrival at the nature reserve, we'll begin an approximately one-hour hike to the top of the volcano. During the ascent, your tour guide will share information about the formation of Cerro Negro, its volcanic activity, and the geology of this fascinating region.
From the top, you'll enjoy spectacular views before embarking on the most exciting experience of the day: descending the slopes of the volcano on a sandboarding board. Gliding down the black volcanic ash while admiring the scenery is a unique experience that combines adrenaline, fun, and nature.
If weather conditions allow and the schedule permits, you'll also have the opportunity to watch an unforgettable sunset from the top of the volcano, watching the sun disappear behind the Los Maribios volcanic chain. The perfect end to a day full of excitement and extraordinary landscapes.
