What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Phong Nha. Travel over the Da Deo Mountain Pass, learning about the Ho Chi Minh Trail along the way. Arrive at Yen Phu Village, home to the Ruc and Trung Hoa minority communities.

    Begin your trek, walking through peanut farms, cornfields, and local houses to explore the regional lifestyle. Continue through the jungle and rocky paths until you see the towering limestone cliffs and the emerald-green lake at the mouth of Ruc Mon Cave.

    Stop near the cave entrance to enjoy a delicious jungle BBQ lunch cooked by local porters, featuring local pork, chicken, and fresh vegetables. After lunch, gear up with life jackets, helmets, gloves, and high-beam headlamps.

    Enter the narrow mouth of the cave, which opens up to massive, majestic chambers with spectacular stalactites. Challenge yourself with rope ladder climbing and navigating through steep karst passages. Switch to adventure mode: swim and paddle SUP or kayaks inside the dark, crystal-clear subterranean river.
