What you can expect

Embark on a thrilling adventure and climb the majestic mountain of San Gabriel, which rises 3,125 metres above sea level in the middle of the Chilean Andes. Equip yourself with mountain boots, backpack crampons, ice axe, and a helmet. Marvel at breathtaking panoramic views.

Start your day with a pickup from your accommodation in San José de Maipo at 4 AM or at 3 AM from any point in Santiago. Begin your hike around 5 am from 1,350 metres above sea level. The hike takes between 5 to 7 hours, with an elevation gain of approximately 1,750 metres to reach the summit of Cerro San Gabriel via its normal route.

During the activity, techniques for walking with crampons and ice axes will be taught. As you ascend, take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. After reaching the summit, begin your descent. It takes 3 to 5 hours to descend.

After your adventure, return to your accommodation in San José de Maipo or Santiago.
