Day 1: Surabaya or Malang – Hotel in Bromo Area

Get picked up from your location in Surabaya or Malang (hotel, airport, or train station) and drive to your hotel near the Bromo area.

Day 2: Bromo Sunrise – Transfer to Hotel in Bondowoso Area

Around 2:00 AM, begin your Bromo adventure with a 4x4 Jeep ride to the sunrise viewpoint, the most iconic spot to witness the beautiful sunrise over Bromo. As the sun rises above the misty horizon, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Bromo’s active crater, the majestic Mount Semeru (the highest volcano in Java), Mount Batok, and the vast Sea of Sand stretching below.

After sunrise, continue across the Sea of Sand towards the base of Mount Bromo. From there, hike or ride a horse up the slope and climb the stairs to the crater rim, where you’ll feel the warmth and energy of the active volcano. Before heading back, take time to explore Luhur Poten Temple, a sacred Hindu temple nestled in the caldera. Enjoy a warm, traditional Indonesian breakfast at your hotel before continuing the journey to Bondowoso, with a lunch break along the way.

Day 3: Ijen Blue Fire Hike – Drop Off

At 11:30 PM, get picked up from the hotel and transfer to Paltuding (trekking point), the starting point of the Ijen Crater trek. Begin your early morning hike to witness the otherworldly Blue Fire phenomenon, a rare natural event visible only in a few places on Earth. After reaching the crater rim, enjoy stunning views of the turquoise acidic lake, active sulphur mining operations, and sunrise over the Ijen Plateau. After the descent, your journey ends with a drop-off in Surabaya, Malang, or Ketapang Port.
