2-Day Erg Chigaga Desert Tour from Zagora (Tour by 4x4)

DAY 1: ZAGORA – M’HAMID – OASES – ERG CHIGAGA

Your private desert adventure begins at 13:00 (1:00 PM). We will pick you up in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle from your accommodation in Zagora or directly from our agency office.

We drive south towards M’Hamid, passing through the scenic Tizi Anagame Pass and the Ben Selman Mountains. After M’Hamid, we leave the paved road and continue off-road for about 2 hours, crossing a beautiful landscape of stony plains, dried riverbeds, and sand dunes. On the way, we’ll stop to visit a tranquil oasis.

We arrive at Erg Chigaga, the largest dune area in the region, just before sunset. There, you’ll enjoy a 1-hour camel ride through the dunes during the golden hour—perfect for stunning sunset photos.

In the evening, arrive at your private tent in a desert camp. Enjoy a delicious traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by a campfire night with live Berber music and drumming under the stars.

DAY 2: ERG CHIGAGA – TAMEGROUTE – ZAGORA
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp. On the way back to Zagora, we stop at the village of Tamegroute to visit its historic Koranic school, explore the underground kasbah, and watch the process of making traditional green pottery.

We return to Zagora around 12:00 PM (noon), with drop-off at your accommodation or back at our agency.
