Known as “the Kitchen of Kanmon”, bustling Karato Market is a fisherman’s market brimming with fresh seafood, regional snacks and hand‑made crafts. Sample sushi and local delicacies at your own cost and soak up genuine local atmosphere.
Important: The market opens Friday‑Sunday, closed every Wednesday, plus March 4, 11, 25. Please verify the latest opening status with customer service prior to your tour date. Should the market be closed, Mojiko Retro District will serve as the fixed alternative attraction. No partial refund will be issued for this segment substitution.
Mojiko Retro District is a nostalgic port quarter filled with Western‑style buildings, vintage cafés and boutique shops, perfect for sightseeing and photos.
Motonosumi Shrine|Duration: approx. 60 min
Featured on CNN’s list of 31 Most Beautiful Places in Japan. Wander along the clifftop through 123 vermilion torii gates overlooking the sea, and admire the vivid contrast between bright‑red gates and deep‑blue ocean. You may also join the traditional lucky coin‑toss ritual.
Note: The inner worship hall closes on weekends, national holidays, May 2‑10 and Aug 8‑16. The coastal torii gate walking area remains open for visitors.
Mount Sarakura Night View (Million‑Dollar View)|Duration: approx. 90 min
Admire Kitakyushu’s celebrated Million ‑Dollar View, counted among Japan’s New Three Great Night Views. Ropeway tickets are at your own expense. If the ropeway service is suspended, pre‑selected alternative sights such as Akama Shrine or Fukuoka Tower will be arranged. No partial refund applies for this site replacement.
