Takachiho Gorge: Natural Wonders
Begin your adventure at Takachiho Gorge, home to the stunning Manai Waterfall. Marvel at this 18-meter cascade—ranked among Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls—which often features morning rainbows; your guide will share the best photo spots to capture the view. Stroll along the Three Eras Bridge, a “corridor of time” with bridges from the Meiji, Showa, and Heisei eras, perfect for snapping reflections of the gorge.
For an extra thrill, opt for a 4km boat ride through the gorge’s 90° cliffs (Choose the package with boat cruise,advance booking recommended). Your guide will assist with boarding. Important Reminder: Each boat accommodates a maximum of 3 guests. Solo travellers share the boat with other guests, we appreciate your understanding.
Amaterasu Railway: A Showa-Era Journey
Next, hop on a vintage train to journey through Kyushu’s scenic landscapes.

If you choose to purchase it on-site, the guide will assist you with the ticket purchase at the attraction. If the train ride cannot be operated due to force majeure, the Amaterasu Railway ticket fee will be fully refunded.
Amano Yasugawara Shrine: Myth & Blessings
Finally, visit Amano Yasugawara Shrine, a mythical site linked to the “Amano Iwato” legend recorded in the Kojiki (Japan’s oldest chronicle). Participate in the stone-stacking ritual, where legend says stacked stones make wishes come true. Listen to ancient Shinto stories and immerse yourself in Kyushu’s rich cultural heritage.

For packages that include the boat cruise, if the cruise is cancelled due to weather or water conditions such as storms or high water levels, please contact the staff on the day of the tour to receive a full refund of the boat ticket fee.
This tour involves moderate physical activity. Takachiho Gorge has many stairs and requires about 30 minutes of walking return. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Not recommended for guests with limited mobility.
