From Funchal we head towards Santa Cruz, located in the South East of the island to begin the ascent to Santo da Serra at more than 800 metres above sea level. It is a small village full of charm where we will take a coffee break.
This is followed by a moment of adventure where we will travel along dirt roads (off-road) through the wildlife of Madeira to reach the third highest peak of the island, Pico do Arieiro. Located at 1818 metres, the view is breathtaking and some explanations of the place will be provided to you by our guides.
We then go down towards Ribeiro Frio where you will have the opportunity to do a very pleasant levada (depending on the weather conditions). We will take a short break before heading back to Santana for lunch (the guide will offer you several solutions)
Santana is a legendary place on the island where our old traditional thatched roof houses are located. A guided tour will be carried out, where you can take beautiful souvenir photos.
This is followed by a small rum tasting in the beautiful town of Porto da Cruz, a small town of 3000 inhabitants surrounded by mountains and the ocean.
The last destination of the excursion will be Ponta de São Lourenço in the far east of Madeira. This is the first part of the island to emerge from the water millions of years earlier. At the edge of the cliffs, we will take a moment to contemplate this place with its unique view.
