Your adventure starts with a hotel pickup from locations like Galle, Mirissa, Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Weligama, or anywhere along the south coast. A vehicle will take you to Udawalawe National Park, known for its abundant wildlife, especially wild elephants.

Udawalawe is a small town in the southern Ratnapura District of Sri Lanka, close to the Hambantota and Monaragala districts. It's the gateway to Udawalawe National Park, a major wildlife reserve home to many exotic animals and birds. The town is also notable for the Uda Walawa Reservoir, created in 1969 with a dam and hydroelectric plant on the Walawe River.

Your tour includes a 2-hour drive in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Elephant Transit Home, where you'll spend 30 minutes watching baby elephants being fed. The transit home, established by the Department of Wildlife Conservation with help from the Born Free Foundation, cares for orphaned elephant calves and releases them into the wild once they're strong enough.

After exploring the park, spotting wildlife, and enjoying the scenery, you'll head back to your hotel, either in the south or in Ella, with memories of an exciting day spent in Udawalawe National Park.
