At the appointed time, we will meet in front of the Casa do Benin Museum to begin this foodie tour of Salvador. Are you ready?
After a brief introduction to the cuisine of Salvador, which is known as the Black Rome, we will begin a tour of the Santo Antônio area. We will see its colourful streets and then head to the Casa da Vovó restaurant, where we will sample acarajé. This dish, made with a bean dough, has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Salvador.
The next stop will be at the Zanzibar restaurant. At this establishment, which is always frequented by Bahian artists who perform songs by Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, we will enjoy a typical drink. This is a ginger smoothie, which we will enjoy while listening to traditional music from northeastern Brazil.
Finally, after a 3-hour journey, we will conclude this Salvador de Bahia food tour at Bar Ulisses. There, we will enjoy a traditional dish, which, depending on the season, will be moqueca, feijoada, or cozido. Bon appétit!
