Overview

Geysers are formations that usually exist in volcanic regions. They are like small volcanoes that erupt with water, expelled through a crevasse. The water that comes out of the geysers is very hot and, when in contact with the air, generates steam, which is even more evident when the air is cold.

Activity itinerary

We will leave at dawn from San Pedro de Atacama to the Altiplano, climbing the hills and mountains of the Andes. After 1 hour of travel, we will arrive at the Tatio Geysers, a unique natural spectacle in the world, with 80 steaming geysers at 4200 metres high. In this natural setting, we will enjoy breakfast and then we will walk through the geothermal field, surrounded by many smoke columns. Then we will visit the rustic pozón, inside the geothermal field, even if you are not authorised to take a shower.
