This is not your average canal cruise. Our boat is fully electric, quiet, and designed with comfort in mind. Instead of traditional wooden benches, you’ll find round seating with tables – ideal for couples, families, or groups who want to sit together, chat, and enjoy the views in a relaxed setting. The boat is heated in colder months and cooled in summer, so you’ll always travel in comfort, regardless of the weather.
The journey begins in the heart of Giethoorn’s canal district. Glide through narrow waterways lined with thatched farmhouses, wooden bridges, and centuries-old buildings. As the boat weaves through the charming village, your captain shares stories about the history of Giethoorn – from peat cutting to the rise of tourism – and explains local traditions, the use of punter boats, and the unique architecture of the area.
After passing through the village, the boat enters Lake Bovenwijde, where the landscape opens up and nature takes over. You’ll enjoy sweeping views of the water, reeds, and birdlife. A highlight of this section is a close-up look at Kraggehuis Island, a small and tranquil island in the middle of the lake, only accessible by boat. While we don’t stop there, you’ll get a perfect photo opportunity from the water.

Our boat is wheelchair accessible and suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare the ramp and help you board smoothly.
Getting here is easy: guests can park at the central parking area in Giethoorn. From there, it's normally a 15-minute walk to the village centre, but we offer a free drop-off service to the boarding point right in the heart of the village – saving time and energy, especially on busy days.
