What you can expect

Begin your adventure in the charming alpine village of Kiental. Follow the beautiful Kiene River through lush meadows and mountain forests. After a gentle warm-up ride, reach your first highlight: the unique Tschingelsee. This alpine lake was formed in 1972 after a massive storm reshaped the valley. Today, it’s more of a magical, wide river delta—surrounded by dramatic peaks like Ärmighorn and Aabeberg, and overlooked by the cascading waterfalls of Gwildibachfall and Dündenfall.

Continue uphill along the most legendary mountain road in the area—Europe’s steepest public postbus route, with gradients up to 28%. Thankfully, you’re on e-bikes, and the climb becomes a smooth and exciting part of the adventure. Along the way, stop at scenic spots for short walks to discover hidden waterfalls and breathtaking natural viewpoints.

At the top, arrive in Griesalp, a peaceful alpine settlement nestled in a valley surrounded by towering peaks. Here, enjoy a delicious lunch in the cosy Golderli mountain restaurant, or relax with a picnic in nature—your choice.

After the break, ride deeper into the glacial valley, following quiet trails with incredible views of majestic 3,000+ metre peaks such as Blüemlisalp. Somewhere along the way, stop for a taste of authentic alpine cheese from local mountain farmers—an experience that truly connects you to the region’s culture.

The ride back follows the same road, as is common in high mountain valleys—but don’t worry, you’ll discover new angles, hidden details, and peaceful moments you might’ve missed on the way up.
