Café Mercedes Acatenango sits in the heart of Guatemala City's Historic Centre, where four generations of the Alvarado family have dedicated their lives to one of the world's finest coffee origins.
In this 45-minute guided tasting, you'll explore how the volcanic soils of Fuego Volcano and Acatenango's high altitude create extraordinary speciality coffee. You'll taste three coffees side by side — washed, honey, and natural process — understanding how each method transforms the same bean into a completely different sensory experience.
Your host, a 4th-generation producer and member of the Denominación de Origen Acatenango, shares the storey behind every cup: the farm, the harvest, the people. No coffee expertise needed — just curiosity.
You'll leave with a 30g coffee sample, printed tasting notes, and a new appreciation for what's in your cup.
