What you can expect

You will discover the largest collection of gold from pre-Hispanic cultures, showcasing various techniques and its ancestral value in different pre-Columbian indigenous cultures, such as the Tumaco, Muisca, and Tairona cultures, among others. After leaving the museum, we will embark on an architectural and cultural tour, where we will also see iconic and significant places that are important in the culture and history of Colombia, such as the Plazoleta del Rosario, which played a key role in the botanical expedition. Along the way, we will encounter some special places, as well as Plaza de Bolívar and the Primatial Cathedral of Colombia, a building with Neoclassical features and a Roman appearance. During our walk, we will come across the houses of the Liberator and the Liberator's wife, Manuelita Sáenz. We will also see the Palace of Liévano, a building in the French-Republican style, and the Colón Theatre, an Italian Neoclassical architectural masterpiece. Continuing our tour, we will indulge our palates with a brief culinary experience featuring dishes from the Cundinamarca-Boyacá highlands. We will then continue our tour and visit the works of Fernando Botero and his private collection donated to the museum. Finally, we will head to the Quevedo Fountain, where we will observe the contrast between the colonial and the modern, and conclude our tour.
