Overview

  • This excursion takes us on a fact-packed and fun-packed journey through the history and culture of the local area, from the Bronze Age to the present day without it being like being back at school! We visit the places, see the artefacts and hear the stories over an informative highly enjoyable tour. We enjoy a relaxed seafood lunch before returning to our accommodation via the spectacular scenic route for the afternoon siesta!

The 18th-Century castle was built on the site of a previous Moorish castle on the top of a commanding rock that oversees the Mediterranean. From this point we get an amazing panoramic view of the surrounding sierras and up and down the stunning Murcia and Almería coast.

Playa De Los Cocedores

This spectacular cove was once the centre of operations for the "cocedores", or esparto grass workers, and is now the strikingly-located beach restaurants for miles around. We stop here for lunch (fresh fish and seafood is the speciality) before returning, via the scenic route, to your hotel.
