When we ask ourselves what to visit in Castelo Branco, the obvious answer is the Jardim do Paço Episcopal, as it is by far the best-known monument in the city and is possibly the most beautiful garden in the country. A strong and perhaps debatable statement, but this is an amazing and magical Garden.
The Castelo Branco Embroidery has characteristics that make it unique and distinct among Portuguese embroideries.
They appear essentially in linen bedspreads embroidered with natural silk thread, with oriental-inspired designs. They became known from the mid-16th century.

The exhibition organised by João Pinharanda includes a set of original drawings by Master Cargaleiro and was designed to reveal a more intimate and lesser-known area of his work. From a collection of two thousand copies, the exhibition's curator, João Pinharanda, selected one hundred and a half works, which show the facet of a designer, intense and always rich in their proposals.
