Morning: Reed Flute Cave Exploration
Your day begins at 9:00 AM, when your private driver will pick you up from your hotel in Guilin. After a scenic 20-minute drive, you’ll arrive at the Reed Flute Cave, located 7 kilometres northwest of city centre Guilin. This U-shaped cave stretches 240 metres deep and requires about 500 metres of walking inside, taking roughly an hour to explore. Inside, you’ll discover a spectacular world of stalactites, stone pillars, and rock formations created by carbonate deposition, illuminated by colourful lighting to create a natural art palace. The cave’s otherworldly beauty makes it a must-visit attraction in Guilin.
Midday: Yulong River Bamboo Rafting and Ruyi Peak Adventure
Next, head to the Yulong River, a 1.5-hour drive from the Reed Flute Cave. Known as “the Little Li River,” the Yulong River is a tributary of the Li River that starts in northern Yangshuo County. Board a traditional bamboo raft for a 40-minute ride, gliding through tranquil waters surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic karst peaks. Afterwards, continue to Ruyi Peak, a new and spectacular attraction near Moon Hill and on the way to Silver Cave. Spanning a total length of 2.3 kilometres, the Ruyi Peak Ropeway uses advanced equipment from France’s POMA Company, offering an 8-passenger detachable mono-cable gondola lift. With an elevation difference of 242 metres and a horizontal distance of 1,800 metres, it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Along the ropeway, visitors can stroll through attractions like a glass-bottomed skywalk, a love-ring bridge, mountain mirrors, cliff dwellings, and other beautiful landscapes, fully experiencing the fun of travelling through the mountains.
Evening: Impression Liu Sanjie Show and Return to Guilin
After visiting Ruyi Peak and enjoying dinner (at your own expense), take a 30-minute drive to the natural theatre of the Impression Liu Sanjie Show. Set against the mist-shrouded hills and waters of the Li River, this innovative opera integrates nature into its performance. The hills and their reflections in the river create an ever-changing natural setting, while valleys, cool breezes, and gurgling streams contribute to a three-dimensional sound effect. Different weather conditions offer unique seasonal sceneries, ensuring a fresh experience every time you watch it. After the show, your driver will return you to your Guilin hotel by around 10:30 PM, concluding a memorable day of exploration and wonder.
