Embark on a 2-day trekking journey through the remote Dao ethnic hamlets of Khuoi My, Lung Vai, Xa Phin, Mao Phin, and Nam Te. Along the way, you will encounter ancient Shan Tuyet tea hills, vast terraced rice fields, moss-covered stilt houses, and crystal-clear waterfalls. Each step reveals the vibrant heritage of the Long-Dress Dao (Dao Ao Dai) people, the spiritual guardians of the Tay Con Linh sacred forest. This is more than a trek: it is a cultural immersion, with authentic local hospitality under the sustainable principles of TVPalm Adventure.
This is a private tour: only your group of 2 to 8 travellers walks together, and no other guests are added.
Day 1: TVPalm Ecolodge – Khuoi My – Lung Vai – Na Mau – Xa Phin (around 12.5 km on foot, around 8–10 hours in total with stops)
09:00: Depart from TVPalm Ecolodge (be ready by 08:45) and walk through the Dao villages of Khuoi My towards Lung Vai, with a short talk on local biodiversity.
12:00: Lunch at a local eatery in Lung Vai. We do a personal waste check to keep the trek plastic-free. Your guide may offer a stop at the cold pool.
13:30: Trek through bamboo forest and Na Mau village, past the terraced fields of the Dao people.
17:30: Arrive in Xa Phin. Dinner and a night at a Dao family homestay (curtained sleeping area, shared bathroom, hot water heated by wood fire).
Day 2: Xa Phin – Mao Phin – Nam Te – Huou Waterfall – TVPalm Ecolodge (around 10–12 km on foot, around 7–8 hours in total with stops)
08:00: Explore the moss-covered stilt houses of Xa Phin and the Shan Tuyet tea hills. Trek towards Mao Phin and sit with the Dao families there.
12:00: Lunch in Nam Te with local specialities.
Afternoon: Walk down to Huou Waterfall. Around 15:00–16:00 an easy rider takes you back by motorbike to TVPalm Ecolodge.
Free night at TVPalm Ecolodge: after the trek you stay a night in a private room, with breakfast the next morning. Dinner is not included. If the Ecolodge is full, you get dinner and one drink (beer or soft drink) instead. If you leave the same day, the free night is not exchanged or refunded. Option “Pick-up/drop-off in Ha Giang city”: we take you from the Ecolodge to a point of your choice around Ha Giang city the next morning, at no extra cost. Option “Departure from TVPalm Ecolodge”: the next-morning transfer is not included.
Times and distances are approximate. The guide sets the pace and may lengthen or shorten the day depending on the group's health, fitness and the weather. From the Xa Phin junction it is around 23 km to the centre of Ha Giang city (km 0) and around 27 km to TVPalm Ecolodge.
