Day 1: Hammamet – El Djem – Matmata – Ksar Ghilane (Desert Camp)
Begin your adventure with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Hammamet. Head south to the impressive Roman Amphitheatre of El Djem, one of the largest and best-preserved Roman monuments in the world (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Continue to Matmata, famous for its lunar landscapes. Visit a traditional Berber troglodyte house and learn about local customs and architecture. Then, drive towards Ksar Ghilane, a remote oasis deep in the Sahara Desert.
Arrive at the desert camp and settle into your tent. Assist in the traditional preparation of sand bread, a unique desert experience. Enjoy a Bedouin evening around the campfire, followed by dinner at the camp. Spend the night in a desert tent under the stars, with free time for stargazing, far from light pollution.
Day 2: Ksar Ghilane – Tataouine – Chenini – Djerba
After breakfast at the desert camp, depart from Ksar Ghilane towards the Berber region of Tataouine. Visit Chenini, an ancient Berber hilltop village with cave dwellings and panoramic desert views.
Continue towards Djerba Island, stopping for lunch en route at a local restaurant. Arrive in Djerba and check in at your hotel in the city centre. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the island at your own pace. Walk along the beach during summer, enjoy a drink at the famous Djerba Casino or at a seaside café, and have dinner on your own. Spend the night in a hotel in central Djerba.
Day 3: Djerba – El Djem – Hammamet
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free morning in Djerba. Book optional activities such as quad biking, jet skiing, or a Djerba island tour (extra). Visit the local market and enjoy a grilled fish lunch.
Depart north towards Hammamet, stopping for coffee near the amphitheatre in El Djem. Continue back to Hammamet, where your adventure ends.
