Overview

The 27 km long Jungang Line abandoned railway section that runs from Paldang in Namyangju to Yangpyeong is the most beautiful bike path in the country. As you ride along the neatly paved bike path that used to be a rusty train track, you will come across a nostalgic simple station that serves as a rest area.
The Namhangang River Bicycle Path, full of memories and romance, is a living history and nature museum where natural attractions, including Dumulmeori, old tunnels, and railway bridges unfold like a watercolour painting along the river. A bicycle trip where you can see and experience Korea's simple but beautiful nature and countryside with local people will be an unforgettable memory.

The train station that is now defunct has been turned into somewhat of a museum with small photos of past rail riders. There is a train car that has been turned into a cafe, and picnic tables are set up on the tracks to eat or picnic on with food from nearby shops. There is some fun and intrigue surrounding this abandoned train station.
Dumulmeori
  • 2h
After riding your bike for about an hour and a half, including breaks, you will arrive at Dumulneri. "Dumulmeori" refers to a popular and picturesque location in South Korea, specifically in Yangpyeong County. It is a scenic area where the Bukhangang River and Namhangang River meet. The word "Dumulmeori" itself can be translated as "two water area" in Korean, reflecting its geographical significance as the confluence of two rivers. Dumulmeori is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, including lush landscapes, walking trails, and charming wooden bridges. Many visitors enjoy biking to Dumulmeori as part of a larger outdoor excursion, taking in the scenic views and exploring the area.
Yangpyeong-gun

After enjoying Dumulmeori, take a scenic hour and a half drive via Shinwon Station to reach the Yangpyeong County Museum of Art. Once you've explored and rested there, make your way back for about an hour. Return the bike at Shinwon Station, and then hop on the train to head back to Seoul.
