Overview

  • Take a private guided hiking tour in the Cantareira State Park, about 40 minutes away from São Paulo's city centre by private vehicle.

The hike has the main target of reaching Pedra Grande (big rock) which is a 1010 metre high belvedere about 5 kilometres away from the park’s main entrance (10 km walk return), where visitors can contemplate one of the most splendid views of São Paulo.

In order to reach Pedra Grande viewpoint, visitors hike on unpaved roads uphill, on trails of light level of difficulty and surrounded by native forest, lush landscape, little falls and animals, particularly monkeys.

About an hour and a half walk from the park’s main entrance, rests a beautiful lake. Take a break at the edge of it, then continue on for more thirty minutes reaching out the belvedere.

Once on the top resting area of Pedra Grande, take in the incredible views spanning all the vastness of São Paulo looking across the valleys towards the largest city in the Southern hemisphere.
