Your experience begins with a pickup by car from the nearest JR station, followed by a short drive to the host family’s countryside home. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a handmade welcome drink and time to relax . Next, you’ll tour the garden, where you can harvest seasonal vegetables and see edible herbs growing nearby. Your hosts will explain how these ingredients are used in everyday Japanese cooking and how the seasons influence what people eat. Using the freshly harvested ingredients, you’ll then prepare your meal together. This is a private experience, so the menu is decided in advance based on your preferences. Vegan options are available. You can choose from popular Japanese dishes such as okonomiyaki, ramen, gyoza, sushi, or bento, as well as traditional home-style meals like ichiju-sansai (one soup with three side dishes served with rice). Once the cooking is finished, everyone sits down to enjoy the meal together. After eating, you can take a relaxed walk around the property, continue chatting with the family, and enjoy the peaceful rural atmosphere.
