What you can expect

  • Experience the peaceful world of traditional Japanese sumi-e ink painting in Hiroshima. Sumi-e is a traditional Japanese art style that uses simple black ink and brush techniques to express nature, balance, and beauty.

Your experience begins with a short introduction to sumi-e culture and the basic techniques of brush and ink painting. Using authentic Japanese brushes and ink, your instructor will guide you step by step in a simple and beginner-friendly way.

You will practice basic brush movements before creating your own sumi-e artwork on special Japanese paper. Popular subjects include bamboo, flowers, mountains, and traditional Japanese motifs.

The workshop takes place in a calm and relaxing indoor space in central Hiroshima, making it a perfect cultural activity during your trip. No previous art experience is required, and both adults and children can enjoy the experience.

At the end of the workshop, you can take your finished artwork home as a special souvenir from Japan.

    Duration: Approximately 80 minutes
