What you can expect

  • Discover Hiroshima’s two most iconic destinations in one unforgettable day on this expertly guided walking tour. Your journey begins at Hiroshima Station, where you'll travel by train and ferry to the beautiful island of Miyajima, one of Japan’s most celebrated cultural and spiritual destinations.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walk through Miyajima while taking in its tranquil atmosphere and scenic coastal views. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its iconic floating torii gate, and learn about the island’s centuries-old history, religious significance, and unique traditions. You'll also have time to stroll along the lively Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street, where you can browse local shops, discover regional specialities, and enjoy free time before returning to Hiroshima City.

After a scenic ferry ride and train journey back to the city, continue to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where your guide will explain the history of Hiroshima, the devastating events of World War II, and the city's remarkable journey towards peace and recovery. Visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, one of Hiroshima's most recognisable landmarks, before seeing the Peace Bell, the Children's Peace Monument, and the Flame of Peace. As you walk through the park, you'll gain a deeper understanding of Hiroshima's enduring message of peace, remembrance, and hope for future generations.

The experience concludes at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where moving exhibits and personal stories provide valuable insight into the impact of the atomic bombing and Hiroshima's remarkable recovery. Combining breathtaking cultural heritage with one of the world's most significant historical sites, this tour offers a meaningful, educational, and unforgettable introduction to Hiroshima.

If the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is closed, the tour will continue with additional visits to other important sites in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park for a meaningful experience. Travellers may also choose to receive a full refund for the affected booking.
