What you can expect

Travel from Kyoto or Hiroshima to Hiroshima and Miyajima on a guided tour. Enjoy a ferry ride to Miyajima Island and sample local delicacies. Discover Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Itsukushima Shrine.

From Hiroshima, you will head to the coast to take a ferry to the charming Miyajima Island. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural beauty, the island is home to Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its iconic floating torii gate, which appears to rise from the water at high tide, is one of Japan’s most famous landmarks and the perfect backdrop for unforgettable photos.

While exploring the island, you’ll have the opportunity to stroll through picturesque streets, visit historic temples, and enjoy local treats such as Miyajima’s renowned oysters and momiji manju, delicious maple leaf-shaped pastries. Afterwards, you will take the ferry back to Hiroshima. The next stop will be the Peace Memorial Park, a site of profound historical significance. Here you will find the Peace Memorial, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and other monuments honouring the victims of the 1945 bombing.
