Join a thoughtfully designed private guided walking tour through Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and gain deeper insight into one of the most significant events in modern history. Led by passionate Hiroshima local guides from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, this experience combines historical perspective, meaningful storytelling, and personal exchange in an approachable private setting. The private setting creates space for meaningful conversation, reflection, freedom to ask questions throughout the tour, offering more immersive experience than a standard group visit.
As you walk through the Hiroshima Peace memorial Park, discover what Hiroshima was like before the atomic bombing, why it was selected as a target during the final stages of World War II, and how the city transformed from devastation into an international symbol of peace and remembrance. Throughout the experience, your guide will connect historical events with survivor testimonies, local perspectives, and the lasting impact the bombing continues to have on Hiroshima and its people today.

The tour begins at the Gates of Peace before continuing into Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a space dedicated to the victims of the nuclear attack, both direct and indirect. Along the way, visit both famous landmarks and lesser-known memorials that together help tell the storey of August 6, 1945. Stops include the Mother and Baby in the Storm statue, the Dr. Marcel Junod Memorial Monument, the Norman Cousins Monument, the Peace Watch, the Peace Cenotaph for Atomic Bomb Victims, the Flame of Peace, the Hiroshima Peace Park Rest House, the Children’s Monument, the Peace Bell, and the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for Atomic Bomb Victims.

As your guide explains the symbolism and stories connected to each site, gain insight into the immense suffering caused by the bombing as well as the resilience of the survivors and the people who helped rebuild the city in its aftermath. Learn why water became such an important symbol throughout the park, how paper cranes became connected to Hiroshima’s message of peace, and how many of the monuments were created not only to memorialise the victims, but also to serve as warnings and messages to future generations.

Continue towards the Atomic Bomb Dome, the only major structure near the hypocenter that remains standing. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as one of the world’s most powerful reminders of the destructive consequences of nuclear warfare.

The experience concludes at the hypocenter of the atomic bombing, where the collected stories, monuments, and impressions come together to provide a deeper understanding of Hiroshima’s history, resilience, and enduring commitment to peace.
