What you can expect

Begin your pottery workshop with a tour of the studio, kilns, and display. Get introduced to the local clay and receive an overview of the wood-firing process.

Next, learn to wedge and knead the clay to eliminate air bubbles. Mould and decorate 3-4 selected clay items of your choice, such as butter dishes, spoon rests, tea bag holders, or soap dishes.
Participants are taken round the exhibited pots in the studio and shown the wheels and kilns used for firing the melting glazes produced by thirty three hours wood stoking to reach 1320 degrees.
Then, learn to make clay pendants using tools and stamps, choosing from a variety of different motifs and designs.

Take a break with tea or coffee overlooking the stunning mountain views.

Finally, guided by professionals, experience how to “throw” a pot on the wheel using an electric turntable.

Select a memento from various pendants and moulds made by the owners.

After the workshop, explore the gallery. Peruse the studio's exhibition of ceramics with unique wood-fired glazes.
