8:10 | Departure.
⭐Hoheikyo (Approx. 60 mins)
From June to October, the tour visits the Hoheikyo Dam area for approximately 60 minutes. This scenic destination is known for its breathtaking natural landscape, where the Toyohira River flows through pristine forests. It has been selected as one of Japan’s “100 Best Forests for Water Source Conservation” and “100 Best Dam Lakes in Japan,” making it one of the most representative natural attractions near Sapporo. The area is especially famous for its vibrant autumn foliage. During this period, an eco-friendly electric bus ticket to Hoheikyo Dam is included.
From April to May and from November 3 onwards, the tour will not visit Hoheikyo. Instead, Jozankei Onsen Town will be visited as the first stop, with a stay of approximately 100 minutes. Guests can enjoy free time to stroll through the hot spring town, take photos, and relax in a footbath, experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain valley.
⭐Jozankei (Approx. 40–100 mins depending on season)
Take a leisurely walk through the hot spring town and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain valley. Enjoy photo opportunities featuring the river, suspension bridges, and beautiful natural landscapes. You may also enjoy a complimentary footbath to soothe your feet and relieve travel fatigue (please bring your own towel if possible).
⭐Lake Toya (Approx. 90 minutes)
Despite being located in a cold region, Lake Toya is a non-freezing lake, with clear waters visible throughout the year. The lake and surrounding mountains create a stunning reflection, offering beautiful scenery in every season.
Meals on your own at Toya Onsen Street.
⭐Showa Shinzan (Approx. 60 minutes)
This area features a spectacular and unique volcanic landscape, allowing you to experience the powerful energy of the earth up close. You may also observe brown bears at close range and discover the wild charm of Hokkaido.
⭐Meisui Park (Approx. 30 minutes)
Located at the foot of Mount Yotei, which is part of Shikotsu-Toya National Park and designated as one of Japan’s “100 Famous Mountains,” this park is known for its pure spring water. Rainwater and melted snow from Mount Yotei seep into the ground and are naturally filtered over time before emerging here as crystal-clear spring water. Thanks to this natural filtration process, the water is exceptionally pure and pleasantly sweet in taste.
We recommend bringing an empty PET bottle to fill with the spring water.
Autumn Foliage Notice
The timing of autumn foliage varies slightly each year depending on weather conditions. Based on previous years’ experience, the best viewing period for Hoheikyo Gorge and Jozankei is approximately from late September to late October.
During this period, you may experience vibrant seasonal colours ranging from fresh green to brilliant red and golden foliage, offering some of the most spectacular scenery in Hokkaido.
